Spring is definitely just around the corner here in California, the iris plants have sprouted about 1 foot in the last week and my tulips are coming up nicely in the front of the house. The following card has lovely spring colors and highlights a couple of printing features that Dazzling Reflections offers.
Using the "Print Wizard" feature allows you to get the exact size you want, and also lets you print rectangles and ovals. To see how this is done watch the "Ovals and Rectangles" tutorial located on the tool bar of the program.
For this card you will need the following:
1 ea 5.25" x 4" rectangle kaleidoscope
1 ea 2.75" kaleidoscope
1 ea 2" square kaleidoscope
Click here to download the graphics for this card.
Notice I used the same kaleidoscope for the rectangle and the 2.75" kaleidoscopes. I decided to use a different kaleidoscope for the 2" square but you could easily make them all the same.
Each kaleidoscope was matted with a cream colored cardstock. If you want you can leave a 1/8" white border around the kaleidoscopes when you cut them out. This will give you an instant border plus cut down on the bulk of the finished card.
Finally I finished the card off with a little glitter. I recommend using a Sakura glue pen and micro glitter from P.K. Glitz. The glue pen allows you to precisely mark the area where you want the glitter to stick and the P.K. Glitz micro glitter is so fine it sticks wherever you put it without looking like a huge clump, perfect for adding a little hint of sparkle. Click on the P.K. Glitz banner for more information.
This photo shows a close up of where the glitter was used on the center of the card.
I hope you like this project, it is easily adapted to any occasion or size. Please leave you comments below.
That is so pretty. I love it. I'm also a little jealous that you have signs of spring and I still have snow on the ground :)
ReplyDeleteWendy, as usual, another beautiful card!! I really love what you do with the kaleidoscopes and need to start using my software.
