Bookmark Card

I belong to the Scor-Pal user group and this month they have the "bookmark" card as the creative challenge.

This project is designed to be a card and also has a perforated tab, that when removed, becomes a bookmark.

Cut a sheet of cardstock 5.5" x 11", make the first score mark at 4.25" then using a scor-bug tool or a perforating blade make a perforated score at 8.5"

Decorate the card front and also the tab that makes the bookmark.

What a great gift idea to make a card that coordinates with the book you are giving.

Here's a close-up of the bookmark section.

Supplies Used:

  • Scor-Pal & Scor-Bug
  • Cuttlebug "Victoria" embossing folder
  • K&Company Red Tulip stickers
  • AC Cardstock
  • Inkadinkado clear stamps
  • Fiskars tulip corner punch

This was fun and easy project to make.

Flower Pot Pocket Cards

I was on Stephanie Luman's blog and saw her Flower Pot Pocket Card and just loved it! It inspired me to make my own with a little twist.

I followed the flower pot instructions on Stephanie's blog and added texture with various Cuttlebug embossing folders. Instead of punching multiple flower I choose to do one large kaleidoscope flower made with the Dazzling Reflections Garden Party template pack. Each flower is printed at 3" on photo paper then 2 additional mats, cut from coordinating cardstock, were added one at 3.5" and one at 3.75".

Place the insert into the flowerpot and add a strip of double sided foam tape to the top of the insert. Place a standard invitation size envelope behind the card and add the flower to the insert, making sure not to exceed the dimensions of the envelope. The reason for the foam tape on the insert is that is allows the flower to clear the rim of the pot.

Kaleidoscope Interlocking Envelope

This is an older project but one of the most requested tutorials I get at shows.

I like these because they are quick to make and so versatile, you can use for a quick thank you note, put a photo in the center, or use for an invitation.

Butterfly Dreams Template Pack

Poppy Hill Designs, Inc. releases - Butterfly Dreams - a collection of 20 butterfly themed kaleidoscope templates for use with Dazzling Reflections software.

Click here for more details or go to our website at: www.poppyhilldesigns.com

Here are some projects designed with the Butterfly Dreams template pack:

This card consists of 2 kaleidoscopes, the frame and also the butterflies. We used one of the 8 segment butterfly templates, printed it out and cut the butterflies apart and mounted them onto the card stock using pop-dots.

To design this scrapbook page we printed the butterfly template at 10", mounted it onto 12" card stock, and accented the corners with smaller butterflies.

Fold your butterfly into a beautiful 3D creation. This project is quick and easy to make and gives a new look to a couple of inexpensive pens. We designed the kaleidoscope, printed it and folded into a 3D shape, added a little glitter to the edges and glued it onto the ends of the pens.

Great idea for sign-in books!
