Here is our project: Glittery Butterfly Kaleidoscope Card
Products Used:
- Dazzling Reflections Kaleidoscope Software
- Dazzling Reflections Butterfly Dreams Template Pack
- P.K. Glitz Sticky Paper
- P.K. Glitz Glitter - Golden Diamond
- P.K. Glitz Glitter - Crystal
- Sakura Quickie Glue Pen
- DCWV - cardstock - Purple and Lt. Green
- Cuttlebug - Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
- Scor-Pal and Scor-Tape
The finished card measures 6" and is comprised of 2 kaleidoscopes - the square frame and the butterfly.
Start by designing the frame in Dazzling Reflections - template ks19 was used for this example - and print it at 5.25", trim away the white edges and set aside. Design the butterfly - template ks89 was used for this example - and print at 7". Cut out a single butterfly and set aside.
Take a sheet of the P.K. Glitz Sticky Paper and cut a square measuring 6", peel off the protective coating and stick the trimmed kaleidoscope frame on top - sticky side up. Now put it into your paper trimmer and cut each side leaving an 1/8" border of the sticky tape exposed. Once you have finished apply the Golden Diamond glitter to the exposed edges. I found this method the best to get a uniform border around the frame.
Cut a square measuring 3.5" of the light green cardstock and run it through a Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. Cut a 4.5" square from the sticky paper and apply the light green cardstock, cut each side leaving a 1/8" border and apply the Gold Diamond glitter to the exposed edges.
Back to the butterfly - take the Quickie Glue pen and draw a thin line around half of the butterfly - apply the Crystal glitter. Now do the same for the other half of the butterfly and then down the center of the body. Apply double sided foam tape to the back of the butterfly and apply it to the center of the light green cardstock. Then using a strong adhesive tape, such as, Scor-tape apply it to the back of the light green cardstock and center it on top of the kaleidoscope frame.
Cut a 6" x 12" piece of purple cardstock and score in half - a Scor-Pal was used to for this. Apply adhesive to the back of the kaleidoscope frame and center and attach it to the purple cardstock.
